TRANSALP 2011

I can list a multitude of reasons for signing up for Craft Bike Transalp in July 2011. Trust that among them is a keen sense of adventure and the desire to push my own limits as that always seems a decent training stimulant. Getting a slot for me and my partner at the starting line was only the beginning, now it’s all about getting in shape and getting the right tool for the job. My old bike is a decent hardtail that is mostly doing trailer duty to and fro my son’s daycare, but it can manage a climb up the hills south of Basel when need be. Nevertheless it is time to get a bit back into the know of two-wheeled transportation and matching my own physics and this summer’s event with a proper bike to pull this adventure off. I have gotten to know hilite after my wife got a fully there last spring and I am sure a great ride can be found there. I will be blogging here on Hilite in the coming months to document how the project is progressing. Stay tuned!
