Photography has always been important to us. Since we rarely sell a bicycle that isn’t unique in it’s own way, shooting these bikes is a way for us to remember what’s passed through the doors, and an archive of inspiration for what lies ahead. Almost every bike makes me sit back and just think, ‘holy shit’. Thank you, Dear customer, for creating such a beautiful machine, and our photographer Andreas Sütterlin for the great photographies you are doing for us.

TItanium Pinion P1.18 Fatbike

This bike was build for a 2.0m (6.56 foot) in height rider with an inseam of 1m (3.28 foot ) and to realize the custom geometry it was quite a challenge. The titanium frame was painted according to customer specification. The custom features of this fatbike is the tire, with a width of up to 130mm, the Pinion P1.18 gearbox, the silent and clean Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt and sprockets and the custom geometry. The large volume of the tires in combination with very low air pressure brings unattainable traction on any terrain such as gravel, sand and snow. With the 18 gears and 636% bandwidth of the Pinion there is no mountain to steep. We engineered a Yoke for up to 5'' clearance which is inside hollow. The Yoke is the connection between bottom bracket (Pinion gearbox and the Ti interface) and the chain stays. Ultralight, super-stiff, plenty of clearance for sprocket, crank and tyre. No manual bend of chain stays needed which would negatively influence the stiffness and rigidity. But also we could avoid super heavy massive horseshoe Yoke solutions. Both would have been much cheaper but not at all better. Our customer went to a professional bike fitter and it was performed on a Retül system. The Retül Bike Fit makes riding more enjoyable by making you more efficient and increasing comfort on the bike. We designed the frame around a 177x12mm rear hub and in the front using the Pinion Fatbike spider and Fatbike sprocket. All driven by the extremely reliable CDX Gates drive belt parts. We used a vario-seat post with Bluetooth remote at the handlebar: The Vyron eLECT seat post from Magura. No cables, holes and internal cable routing. The reliable Rock Shox Bluto for up to 4.8'' tyres is mounted. Shift-Up comes with a X12 177mm Fatbike Ethru rear axle and also a front axle for the Rock Shox Bluto fork with 150mm. Highlights of the frame: Tubes: double-butted Gr 9 (Ti3Al2.5V) tubes Drop-Outs: HILITE hooded and adjustable. 177 x 12mm Ethrue or 170 x 10mm QR Brake: Postmount Braze-ons/extras: 2 water bottle mounts Seat post diameter: 30.9mm Seat clamp diameter: 34.9mm Head tube: 44mm ID for headset with EC44 cups Yoke: Custom CNC inside hollow Tyre clearance: Up to 5.0 '' on a 100mm rim Cable routing: Brake and shifting downside downtube
